This is yet another of the 1936 classic comm flood. Approximately 25,000 were struck in total. This particular one was struck by the San Francisco Mint, which struck around 9000 of them.

The coin celebrated the sesquicentennial of Columbia as the capital of South Carolina. There really isn't much to say about these, they were probably a bit of a money grab if I'm honest....but it's still a cool design.

This one resides in an old NGC holder circa 2001-2003. Has a little more toning on the reverse than obverse, but still plenty of luster on either side.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

The coin is quite boring and plain, but I've always kinda wanted one being from South Carolina.

    Yours is a nice specimen.

My example is also graded MS-65. This was issued during the "collector period" for the classic commemoratives. For that reason, they tend to come nice.
