I know that this coin has been cleaned and has a large number of scratches but I would like your opinion on the "7". The 1817/4 is very rare and this coin doesn't seem to match the known overdates. There appears to be another number protruding on the right side of the seven. Thanks for your feedback. Jafo50
It is actually O-111. Star 7 pointing to Liberty's nose rather than the curl, plus the die gouge from her ribbon are both diagnostic.
I was aware that it didn't match the known versions of the overdates. It does look like there's 'something' peeking out from the right side of the 7. Most likely pareidolia?
