I usually use NGC, but decided to send these to PCGS to get trueviews made. They are not my highest graded coins, but have interesting colors. Any guesses on grades?
Hard to say. Gold toners look way different in different lighting. I actually have pictures of the first 3 that I took, so I will show how I captured them:
I think my shots of the 1908 brought out the purples a little better, which is more true to in hand look
I like the dollar, the 1913, and your image of the 1908. I'm going to need some 20th century toned gold for my type set at some point....
Nice looking gold John!! I hate to tell you though, you'll soon be having a little competition in hunting down some toned gold. But not for too long. lol
Looks like nobody has guessed yet. So Here goes for the first guess. To be fair, this is a tough series to grade, let alone from images. MS-64 XF-40 XF-45 MS-62 AU-53 AU-58 AU-55 MS-61 Now to go check my answers. LOL (Edited because I forgot to include me guess for the first coin.)
Looks like the 1908 threw you off! It was the first year of mintage and they did not add the full details on the eagles's wing/shoulder yet
Yeah, you could say that. But to be fair, those Indian's I'm sure are a lot easier to grade in hand then from a TrueView image. At least then, I can tilt the coin in the light to see if luster is present.
By the way, the 1908 and 1912 both came from great southern coins, everyone's favorite ebay seller to hate on. Two great coins. I don't feel like PCGS did great capturing the colors though, so might have to have them reshot by @jtlee321 eventually
