Hello all! New and different daily thread here. [IMG]
It's called "Hey! What about it Wednesday!?".
Post a Coin(s), token, medal or currency that you paid TOO MUCH for and said, "Hey! What about it!?". Why? Maybe you just like it a lot or just needed it to fill a spot or some other reason.
I have several coins that I probably paid too much for but at the present, I can only think of this 2004D Wisconsin set that was purchased for $700. Is it still worth that much today? Probably not. [IMG]

I paid WAY to much for this, when I was completing my Registry War Nickle set. 1945-P Jefferson Nickel TDR FS-804 AU58 PCGS x-horz.jpg

Mostly I feel like I do OK, but I overpaid on this by a lot. I was unfamiliar with the pricing and bought in on impulse. I was wrong, but the coin is great.

It's all relative. 20 years ago I spent too much on some that turned out to be dogs, like this Canada 1945 $1 marketed as MS60, paid $185 thinking it was a good deal, value at the time was $260. But it showed up not MS and cleaned. Back then cameras were not as good and I was dumb. But it turned out to be the 5/5 variety so maybe there's a silver lining (heh-heh).
Lesson: don't buy coins based on images like this. 1945_100_rev.jpg

Yeah, I have a few. Learning curve. But since I don't take great photos, they will remain in my hall of shame. :p
