1957 cent error

I cannot find this error, most visible north of E and R of liberty anywhere. I'm curious what people make of it.

The second T in Trust looks more promising to me; Liberty seems like MD.

 

Flat and Shelflike. Worthless doubling IMHO

Also, true Doubled Die fall under the Variety category, not the error category

 

More letters of LIBERTY would be affected if MD, so I think this is die deterioration.

I base my belief on the directionality of the affection to the letters. Also, establishing a pivot point, if any, would help to determine one or the other.

In this case, I don’t see any pivoting going on, nor do I see any other letters, numbers or features with MD.

 

That’s doubling from a worn die. Not a doubled die.
