Trebonianus Gallus as Caesar. This coins doesn't seem to be offered at auctions very often. I think this one was previously sold by CNG EAuction 208, April 8, 2009, lot 312. Caesarea Maritima (“by the Sea”) was a city dedicated by Herod the Great in honor of Emperor Augustus. It was the capital of Roman Judaea, Syria Palaestina and Palaestina Prima, successively, for a period of ca. 650 years. Emperor Vespasian raised its status to that of Colonia, with the name Colonia Prima Flavia Augusta Caesarea.
