We get the silver proof coin sets every year...wonderful. I would really like a silver uncirculated (or satin finish) set. Is the reasoning really that stupid people would confuse them with circulation clad coins? I can't think of another reason.

So my mind went to thinking about the most recent silver regular issue/design coin. The 40% Ikes and Kennedys are easy to guess. Hmm, well I think there is only one, the 2014-D half dollar.

The 1998 s satin and all mint sets 2005-2010 are satins too. The collector sold silver eagles a r e both silver and satiny, the 2017 s Enhanced UNC set and the 2018 s Rev. Proof set are both silver too. I think that they don't make much satin strikes is because people confuse it with the business strikes, that was the case with the Sarin Proofs of the early 21st century.

Mint sales figures also show that when they make special coins like that, people overwhelmingly avoid them. Mint Sets and Proof Sets have been declining in number every year for the past 10. I would expect the Mint to make fewer sets, not more.

If you want silver uncirculated sets you need to go back to when silver was in everyday circulation, 1964 and earlier. The Dime, Quarter and Halves are 90%. For a lower price a 1965, 1966, or a 1967 Special Mint Set only has 40% in the Half Dollar. They are nice looking and can be purchased at a fairly low price.

You mean this "silver" half dollar :D but you will notice this one is a P not a D.. they minted 219k of each p/d/s :D

The special Kennedy is silver and I could have sworn the Rev proof and the enhanced unc is too. The rest is about the satin finishes and why we really don't have them anymore.

The mint issued a four coin set in 2014 for the 50th anniversary of the JFK Half Dollar. There was a reverse Proof in it. I am not a fan of reverse Proofs. This is one of the few I have.

No. The prices the mint charge are outrageous, another set is dead on arrival.
