I guess some Lincoln Cent collectors are hoarding them thinking they're gonna be the next big ticket item! How about you, have you bought any or got some for free so you won't be left out? Guess I missed the bus as I'm out! https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nk...t=11116&_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1312
The odds are good that 2022 BU cent rolls will be far scarcer than 2025 and 1984 will be far far scarcer than 2022. But 40c each for a box of 2025 lincolns might prove to be a good deal in a year or two. There's some chance pennies will be withdrawn for proper disposal. Issuing these coins is throwing good money after bad.
I think the odds are decreasing, just because we seem to be relaxing all the other rules around disposal of hazardous waste.
If I get a 2025-S in my 2025 silver Proof set, I'll be happy. If not, I guess I'll have to buy a clad Proof set, which won't make me happy, especially at the high price of $40.50 the mint charages these days. Since I gave up on keeping my Lincoln Cent set current many, many years ago, I'll let the speculators play with them. With a mintage that has to be in the 100s of millions, I don't see these cents becoming scarce any time soon unless some joker dumps 100 million of them in the woods and lets them rot. The zinc cents don't last very long in the wild. I'm still working on my one cent per year, 1793 to 2025 date set. The remianing pieces are all large cents.
Haven’t seen a 2025 of any denomination. I’ve only seen 2024 cents and only three of them. We only get recycled coins in my area.
