After a long negotiation, I managed to buy a piece of Roman brick with a child's footprint from a collector. Very rare, a real portal into history, and what's special is that next to the child's footprint, there is also the footprint of an animal (a squirrel?)...
What happened that day, that moment, almost 2000 years ago, I'll let you to imagine.
The width of the fingerprint is 6 cm/ 2.3 inches...

Congratulations on a successful negotiation that made you the custodian of a really cool piece of history.

I love it! I've toured several old plantation homes in the U.S., and was always amazed that a few of the homemade bricks would have some type of track in them, generally a Turkey track. I was always interested in having one. Well, I have a friend that lives in an old plantation home that was probably built around 1850-1855. I was walking around helping clean up her garden area and found this. She was kind enough to give it to me. Not sure what animal track it is? I haven't taken the time to really research it. Mine is not even close to being what you have, but I'm thrilled to have it. Mine is a little over half of a brick. So glad you were able to get the one you have, and thanks for posting it. 20210702_143943.jpg 20210702_143818.jpg
