I might make "Which would you buy" a series if this one turns out well. None of these are currently for sale (as far as I know). Please vote in the poll and don't forget to say why you picked the one you did. Have fun and I hope we can learn from each other!

For this round I decided to pick one of my favorite US commemoratives, the 1925-S California Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar, all graded MS-64. Be sure to look at all the photos in the links provided.

Feel free to post a picture of yours if you have one.

    A) I find the toning attractive, but I'd rather have a whiter coin in my collection. It appears to be a little lacking in luster as well, but that could just be the pictures.

    B) I wouldn't have any problem adding this to my collection, but it isn't my favorite in this list.

    C) The TrueView of this coin makes the toning look really nice, but the Stack's Bowers photo make it look dark and not as colorful. I can't say which picture is more accurate unless I saw the coin in person. Either way I would pass on this coin because I don't like the obverse finger print around "Y" and the black spots on the reverse.

    D) Similar story to coin A. I really like this coin, more so than A, but it isn't my top pick.

    E) Not a fan of the toning on this one. Particularly the speckled look on the reverse.

    F) My personal favorite. Nice even toning, not too white and not too toned. However, there are a few largish marks on the obverse in the right field.

    G) A very bright (dipped?) coin. The biggest problem I have with this coin is there are a handful of black flecks on both sides. And they stand out fairly well on such a white coin.

    H) There are some nice colors on this coin, but it's a bit too brown for my liking. I also think the color splashes take away some of the focus from the design.

F is also my favorite. It looks the most original out of the bunch.

I voted for B, but a strong second is F for me.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

B is by far my first choice. E and F would be good choices if they matched the rest of my set.

None of them are prooflike, so in reality I'd choose none of the above.

I picked H because I wanted to give a vote for the coin I thought Bunny Foo Foo, oops, I mean @paddyman98 might have dug up metal detecting. Lots of 'ED' on that one. See what I did there, Ed ;)

At the moment I’m alone in your poll but I’m not a collector of commemorative coins. The only ones I have are in my 7070 album.

I like the toning On "E" and "F", and "G" is that sparkleing white that you expect on most MS 64 silver coins. The other selections just don't really catch my eye.. So for pretty much the same money I would probably choose 1st E then G and finally F. I would be happy with H as well at a discounted price vs the others :D I don't object to "dark" coins :D

I will abstain from voting as I am no longer collecting commemoratives. Great Collections is now auctioning 64 coins from my set of classic gold and silver commemoratives. I kept back the Pan Pac half dollar, the $1 and $2.50 Pan Pac gold and a short type set consisting of the Isabella Quarter, the Lafayette Dollar, and the Hawaiian Half Dollar. I also have two Hudson Half Dollars that belong to my wife. Sue is from Hudson and her mom picked up the halves when they came out.
