Common date, but I thought It a very nice example, undergraded, slot was empty.. add in under list price and Binion Hoard so of course I bid and won What would you grade it (as mentioned I think it undergraded)
MS 62 ....the cheek and fields to the left of the cheek suggest to me that 62 is the max for this one. If they gave it a 61, I wouldn't question it either. A 60 might be on the low end.
My first impression was MS-62. Alot of scuffs in the field. Field in front of the face and the cheek are prime focal points for grading on these.
A bit better brilliance to the piece in the whole slab pics, think about it. these were all passed thru commerce at one point or another. I think 62 is as high as it goes.
But did you pay extra for the label? Bunion Morgan slabs bring $70 plus dollars with just about any grade. Said to be about 100,000 silver dollars slabbed by NGC in what they call higher grades 61&up most being Morgan dollars.
Same here....although I could give a ddddd sticker of approval at that grade if that makes @mrweaseluv any happier
as i said at the top, I paid just under list (ngc list being 85) for a 62 so add in the Binion label and the fact it is a fine looking coin even at 62 I couldn't resist
