Anyone see these on the bay? Great design but the seller says there's only 53 of the 1/10's minted which is why the price is $2000! I love gold and the design but paying that much isn't in my best interest, how about you? https://www.ebay.com/itm/2568292430...lp:3817808&itmmeta=01JMZ4NHT5XRZQBYWXXAR955BY
I belong to a historical firearms preservation society in the UK and we had medals made that were 10 times better quality than this and the cost including dies was around $2000 including 100 pieces so the average cost was $20 each. These were 38 mm/ 1.5" diameter and were plated. Solid Silver was quoted at $70 each. The same company made this for a museum. 24 carat gold plate and a hundred worked out at $25 each. This guy only needs to convince a few with his fanciful stories to make a profit. I think I will pass. To make a point, the gold content is no more than $300 and I think the design is not that sharp. Nice design but lacks detail.
This is the only thing I could find on it. And this is too high as well. My opinion of course. https://freewillbullion.com/product...ne-gold-free-will-sovereign-proof-like-round/
Hi @chrissy1955, welcome to CoinTalk! They don't mean Will as a person, maybe below will help! Will means to want or to choose. If you have free will, you are allowed to choose what you want. If you make a will, you've write down what you want to have happen to your money and your stuff.
I guess its worth what anyone will (pun intended) pay for it. Not to my taste from the point of view of aesthetics or value for money. Probably would sell out with a feature ad in the National Enquirer.....
Just picked up my first gold Maple Leaf (1/20th oz) today for a small fraction of that $2000. I like gold and all, but sheesh... that's a hefty premium on that one you're showing!
I remember someone, probably on this board, saying "a mintage of 2 is still too high, if only one person in the world wants one." Mintage alone doesn't prove value; there's a difference between rarity and scarcity. If there's not more than 53 people in the world that want one of these, the low mintage means nothing. It's an interesting design, but it only has about $300 give or take worth of gold in it ($289.65 as of the time I type this), and me personally that's the most I'd ever consider paying, knowing that if I ever got tired of it being in my collection I could at least get the gold value back upon selling it.
