What variety "charts?" You are speaking of government mint issues not private mint issues. Your argument makes no sense. He does have varieties though. Go check out his production blog. He has multiple die pairs on some issues and each die pair is technically a variety. He has a Peace dollar with an RPM, his Capped Bust half's have 1816/15 RPD and 9 double struck error coins were released, the 2009 "proofed" silver eagles have different variations of his DC mark. Etc. If you want a truley complete Carr overstrike set you would need all die pairs (Varities) And no, ANACS will not put "anything" on its slab. They put the correct information if it is called for. They are not a basement slabber.
Because it does not offer a definitive answer to the debate, unless no answer is the answer your willing to accept.
A 1958 Lincoln Cent is not a "fantasy date". What is a fantasy-date over-strike a "fake" of, exactly ?
I just checked some error scopes I have around the house, nothing of any of the stuff your talking about is in it, those charts ...
We don't want to miss these too . http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/date.php http://www.doubleddie.com/228401.html http://varietyvista.com/CONECA Master Listings.htm
Because I'm like a news reporter, I go to the local shows and sit at the coneca table and here the news or input on these pieces, nothing more and nothing less .. It's real time news from the folks in that world ...
They're also not ancient coins. So what? Nobody's saying (in this thread) that they are errors of any sort. They do have identifiable die pairs, just like some Civil War Tokens, but that's also not considered part of the overall "error and variety" hobby, because they're not varieties of anything most variety collectors care about. You're reporting your "news" to people who already know it. Not a great way to get ahead as a reporter, IMO.
Yawn. This is nothing more than a petty attempt to silence your critics through the threat of a SLAPP action. Whether you like it or not, you have elevated yourself as a public figure in numismatics and without being able to prove actual malice, you're out of luck.
Go to page 1 and search for the first instance of the word "counterfeit." That's who to blame. PS, sorry I edited my post behind you. It was completely unintentional. :/
I go to shows, I know many top names in numismatics, top dealers, as well as TPG graders and management. Nobody, ever, has said a bad word about Carr overstrikes and it has been brought up with many of them. Many even love shooting the breeze about them favorably. I'm sure there are a few who either have a neutral or slightly negative view of them though but they are in a vast minority.
Stoking the flames? More like defending himself against baseless attacks. While these threads do drive a touch of business I'd bet his bottom line would see no appreciable difference if these threads didn't exist
