Let's go back to the beginning. I bought this piece from a bidwall auction in Boston many years ago. The owner told me he put it up with a starting bid of $1,250 because the owner had paid $125 for it a couple decades before. I had to take it a bit over the opening bid to get it. It's now in a PCGS AU-50 holder. I thought it would get an EF-45.

This 1805 is my avatar. It got me hooked on high grade early U.S. coins when I got my first job out of college in the early 1970s.

When I assembled a 1913 Proof set, I thought about selling this Proof Barber Dime, but I liked it so much that I kept it.

This 1913 dime is graded PR-66, but it's darkly toned.

You never cease to amaze me! Won't happen, but I would love to see the whole of your collection. But, I'm not complaining, please keep posting, I'll take whatever I can get. Thank you, Blessings

Very rare PCGS holder, the first version of the Old Green Holder without PCGS on the label, and with a two piece holder that includes a separate outer ring. These holders were only used for 2 months.

You can see a lot of my U.S. coin collection, at least the certified part of it, on the NGC registry. I have a collections of British kings and Roman emperors, but they are mostly uncertified. I also have an extensive collection of 19th century presidential campaign tokens which are mostly uncertified.
