I don't have much experiance with Italian coins and need some help.

    I have a 1956 Italian 50L piece.
The 1 is missing from the 1956 in the date.
All the other detail is fairly sharp so I am pretty sure it is a mint error.
Does anyone know if Italian error coins are in as much demand as US error coins and if so, a rough idea of value?

It sounds like a grease filled die error. They are extremely common in all countries and have no value.

Thanks. I wasn't too sure how common they were. Still nice to find in the bottom of a box.
