    Hello everyone,
    I went dirt fishing for the fourth time this year and I'm still Silverless :bigtears: (Coin wise)

    This were my finds after 5 hour hunt..

    16 Wheat Cents - Oldest was 1910

    Nice hunt. No nickels this time. Seem to be quite scarce. Rarely see them from other hunts.

    Nice. That one-piece Scoville button is old. I'd wager it's pre-Civil War. I get an 1830s-'40s vibe off of it.

    Neat WW1 toy soldier, even though he got wounded.

    Your "mystery square with etchings" is quite intriguing, but I haven't even got a good guess as to what that is or was.

    The only time I ever metal detected was when my wife lost an earring in the yard. I rented a metal detector and spent 3 hours combing the yard but I found it.

    Ah, except a lot of gold targets will be down there in nickel-pulltab range.

    Oh yes! Any coin range signal you’ll want to dig, especially cent-range signals that are a couple of inches deep.

    This transitional reverse 1899 Barber dime signaled as a cent at 3.5”. Oftentimes the silver dimes will do that. Because of the depth meter reading, I was expecting a Wheat cent, and was pleasantly surprised.

    Yes, they have higher readings compared to nickel which is in the aluminum fair range. A copper cent comes through quite similarly to a clad dime.

    I’ve dug cent signals and pulled silver dimes before.
