My wife got a $1 bill for change recently. At work, she attempted to put it in the drink machine for a soda, and the machine kept rejecting it. She called me and said she believed she had a counterfeit $1 bill. I assured her that nobody would waste the time or money to fake it, so I waited until she got home to look it over. It has a misscut on the left and top of it, and the misscut on the top is so high that it shows the bottom edge of the dollar above it on the sheet. Also, the green Treasury stamp is noticeably off center. I know it has some value more than $1 to it, but does anyone here know exactly how much?
The only value above a dollar is curiosity value. The cutting is not a BEP error, it is manmade. The serial number indicates this note originally was part of an uncut sheet that was sold by the BEP. A subsequent possessor cut the sheet apart and was not careful about it. The centering of the seal is within the tolerance allowed by the BEP and is not considered an error.
This is a cut bill from a sheet , it has no error and the seal being slightly off has no value , but the serial number is ultra high , but not at least with six 9s in it to make it much valuable, despite that you can still sell it for around 10 bucks or so on ebay just because of the high serial
Agreed with everyone , this is the 999 series and cut from a sheet of note , the person doing did a poor job , I hate to say it but it got no value other than 1 dollar.
