Okay. Here is a "strange" one for you all. It's called "The Worn and Weary Coin Week!". Coins, Tokens and medals that are Damaged, Graffitied, Worn etc... I somehow have accumulated a bunch of these but will only show a few. Please show yours as well.....
I am really not a fan of heavily worn coins, but this one has 180 deg rotated dies. G4 Hey @Evan8 looks like 64' was a rough year for the US mint.
This just arrived yesterday after a long vacation in Denver. VG8 isn't that worn but it's been around the block a few times. It's special as an early release of a minor change to the reverse hub type, previously unknown to exist prior to 1901 (and previously not known to exist at all prior to a BCCS discovery a couple years ago). Finally an excuse to post a coin I've never posted here before. I got this from grandpa and have had it since I was a kid. I'm pretty sure it's 1929. Seems like Depression era coins got circulated a lot.
Corroded in a soap box details slab VF20, FS-906 Rev 68. Known for the broken letters on the rev, the rim to rim die crack and IDB's on the obverse are eye catching in hand.
Going thru the pics I had on my phone and saw that on one of them, i could see 1843.... yay, it's identified. Will have to post the pic tomorrow as i am on my laptop now
Hey @Evan8 are you planning on going to the Jefferson County show this weekend? It's around 80 tables. I haven't been to this one in almost 10 years.
