The ANA Election Results should be available the the ANA website within the hours. Just thought some of you would like to know.
Yup, the usual culprits will win for Pres & VP. I don't understand how they can't have anyone run against them. There are a few good guys running for Governor positions, but the ANA will never be anything until they: 1) Get rid of Cippoletti; 2) do away with the oath of silence that candidates have to sign. Thankfully that loser Horton can't run again. [I can't stand seeing that tug of his. Or his attitude.] If Cippoletti goes, then I'll join.
I agree with everything you said Frank. But, as long as we get 5 pro-reform candidates on the board, that will essentially override the votes of the President and VP. A little birdie says that we have the votes though .
Please forgive my ignorance on this matter but I asked a question about a month ago to you guys as well as the ANA via e-mail. Where was one supposed to vote at. I received no ballot or instructions to vote online??? I've been a member for a bout a year too.
Ben: Yell & scream!!! You were supposed to get the ballot in the mail. This was also a problem in the last election-- missing ballots!! Write to Coin World & Numismatic News...yell, yell, yell.. More of the same BS from previous years. Yell some more.
We can only hope, lets see if they are strong enough to dump the by-laws revision that will delete the membership form any say in the organization.
Well, I got the voice mail of Judy for the 2nd flippin time in two weeks and have left my 2nd message... This was was very clear in my disappointment.
And the Winners are: Chet Krause Cliff Mishler Ed Rochette Joe Boling Good job all you were allowed to vote! (See Bonedigger's note above).
Well, I see now a member has to be active for two years in order to vote... That seems unusual... "The ANA mailed 31,263 ballots, one to each Association member whose membership was active on May 3. In 2005, 31,113 ballots were mailed. This year’s election also was the first time that the ANA could provide replacement ballots to voters."
Ben: Look at Article I, section 2. http://www.money.org/Content/Naviga...eralCharterBylawsCodeofEthics/0605_bylaws.pdf
I joined in April of 2006 and just received a call from the ANA saying they were terribly sorry but they did send out notices by e-mail (which I probably deleted, LOL) which addressed duplicate ballots.
Would you believe they called AGAIN just now saying there was a break in my membership from April to August of 06 and I might be delinquent in my dues. Now they are starting to get my attention. What he Heck is that? I paid with a CC and purchased a two year membership and have all the magazines from the April, 06 date as well... (I'm sorry, didn't mean to HiJack your thread.)
It must be really frustrating to go through all of that Ben. I really hope you decide to renew your membership in spite of these troubles, as I really believe that positive change is on the way.
