5 oz China Dog 1994 Huge Coin

    Can anyone tell me what this is? Is it legit? How do I verify that it isn't counterfeit and actually silver? It's huge.

    There's only one way to find out, take it over to a coin shop or jewelry shop to have it scanned with an XRF scanner. ;)

    Yeah, it's 50 yuan, not 5 oz. I'm guessing that was on purpose as sort of a Dan Carr style "fantasy" coin to skirt the law, and that even the Chinese frown on counterfeiting their own coins. It's probably silver plated if anything. The style of the 5 is also way off.
