So your saying that there is no way that this could be a one of a kind.

Well the only watch for me to know is to take it to the pro and look at it under there mines is only a 2x. Ok it might just be trash to someone yet in this hobby of collecting it just might be a precious jewel. Hate me not and wish me luck.

Well I took this 1984 D penny to Sahara Coins and was told that what I had a variety coins. Adrain advised me to get in touch with the casinos out here and to take me coins, to the coin show. And you are right about the zinc deterioration but only the part around the mint mark

Sounds like a Struck Through Debris issue. When the Die used to strike the coin gets filled when grease or debris certain letters or numbers will not get struck properly. Nothing major.
Will happen with the little Lincoln also.

Hi - it's not a plating bubble, imo,
    but a 'hit' (damage/PMD)

The other things you see on the coin are normal
wear and tear on the dies - there's no other error
    on it....sorry to say.

    First, welcome to the neighborhood!

Your "error" is rated Common. The "L" disappeared as the result of a grease-filled die. You can't retire just yet!

Thanks for playing and come back soon.

Ahhh, just having some fun. Appears to be a grease filled die. Common and not worth anything over one cent.

Cool to keep for your collection though.
