Unfortunately, I could not find the thread with multi-comments from long-time members concerning your age that refutes your post above.

Trust me... the age of the known universe goes as follows:

    Big Bang
    Sun
    Earth
    Doug
    single-celled organisms

and we're not even sure that the Sun is older, but that's Doug's story, so we have to believe it

Boy, returning all those RP's must put you on all those sellers Xmas card lists. In regard to NGC having a lower pop of 70's, perhaps NGC has a 'leaser' amount of submissions...????

No,not really. I dont know many people who likes their stuff returned. But it would have been nice . I returned about 6. A lot of them I submitted. As far as NGC having a low pop of 70's,well....um..that would be wrong! There are tons of the reverse proof Eagles. This is only true on the Coin & Chronicles reverse proofs. Only the Kennedy is over 100 total 70's. Still working on the photo's.

I'll say this, and I meant to mention it in my last post....I agree with your thoughts on ANACS. While a lot of people still do use ANACS (some believe they grade most circulated coins, and Morgans, from AG through high-grade MS spot-on), I'm not a fan of their 'liberal' use of the 70 grade for modern bullion coins.

As far as the NGC pops being lower than (though, you didn't mention what TPG's they were lower than...) 'others', do, you see this as an intentional strategy by NGC to perhaps keep these pops down (not low, but down) by grading only TRULY 'perfect' 70's? Interested to hear your thoughts....

Quite a collection! Unfortunately the blown up images don't show what I expected to find on several of the coins to make a point; however, on the reverse proof are there three tiny hits on the breast and cap + hits on the "A" in "states" and "O" in "of?"

What were you expecting to find to make your point?

No, just reflections. The "O" in "of" looks like something in the die, the skin is not broken. It's not a hit. At this magnification, it looks like all the letters were carved out of rock!
The sun has a refection, from the rim of the coin bouncing back from the holder.

That Ronald Reagan minstrel show is awesome.
Most of them look like 70's. But you need to have the coin in hand,
and examine closely through a loupe under a very bright light to look for imperfections.

Hope you humor me and some more questions. If the mark on the "O" is "something in the die," I'll suggest to you that your coin is not a PERFECT 70. Also, the hits on the breast and cap are..."something on the die" also?

The point I am making, and I'll guarantee I can probably find "TPGS/Market acceptable" defects on some of your other coins is this: Absolutely perfect coins exist in 70 slabs by every TPGS service. Along with these there are 69's and 68's graded 70. For example, if there are 3-4 tiny hits on the cap and breast of your coin, it is a 68.

This is not a condemnation of the TPGS's or your coins. It is an exercise in "what if" using only highly reflective images of coins that do not blow-up sharply enough to examine.

I wish some of the posters on CT would photo the coins like yours using florescent light so most of the reflections that look like gouges, cracks and marks would disappear! :D

Reverse Proofs are all but impossible to image accurately; the same light which allows you to create contrast and highlights on a "normal" coin merely washes out the detail.

Sure I can humor you.Glad you asked.
OK,"What if" you show us your perfect ANACS 70's reverse proof silver eagles or anything of your perfect 70's.You say they exist, let's see them.
By the way, there are not hits on the cap & breast.

We are not talking about my perfect 70's as my camera will not take full photos but if you PM me as a reminder I'll have one taken. Or better yet, I can take four photos - each a quarter of the obverse.

Now, would you mind taking a close up of the cap and breast of your coin? If those are not marks into the coin's surface or debris on the outside of the case, something got sealed inside the case and it's on your coin. :(

PS :hilarious: I'll show you mine but you first. :D

Well old man you have failed to impress with your wisdom and wit, edited. At least I made an effort to take pitchers to prove a point. (of corse you mocked that to) I won't post another pitcher for you to mock, and I don't need your approval. I know there's no marks! edited
