Error in Liberty in 1955D Lincoln penny

What type of error is this? Or is this something that occurred after production?

    I have been collecting a year now, so I'm learning. That being said Iam having issues finding information on a penny I have. 1955 D penny that has some extra metal within the word liberty. Perhaps from the Denver mint?Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
