A Few of My 2016 Christmas Coins

    This post could rightly go in US,World or Ancient so I figured I would post it here. CT authorities feel free to move it if necessary :)

    Below are a few of my newest additions that I got as presents this holiday season. My apologies on the photo quality as I decided not to take some of them out of their holders till I get home from the holidays.

    Valentinian I AE3 (364-375)
    Obv.: D N VALENTINIANVS P F AVG - Diademed, draped bust right
    Rev.: GLORIA ROMANORVM - Valentinian, holding labarum, advancing right dragging captive by the hair

    Special thanks to the CT brain trust for helping me ID this worn bronze beauty!

    1916 Great Britain 3 Pence
    Obv.: George V head left
    Rev.: Crowned denomination divides date within oak wreath

    Obv.: Head left, braided hair, within circle of stars, date below
    Rev.: Denomination within wreath

    That's a crazy looking irregular flan on that Valentinian. Neato.

    I like the large cent. Fun stuff.

    PS- The Valentinian looks almost like one of those little "pocket screwdriver" tools you can put on a keychain. Very inventive, those Romans. Centuries ahead of the Swiss Army, they were! ;)
