Hello, Sorry I was a time out in coins..bought these one but I am not sure if the description is correct? or lets say what is it really. ALSO TO YOU ALL THE BEST FOR 2017, THAT WE ALL STAY HEALTY AND GATHER LOTS OF BEAUTIES. The say Tiberius, but from where? Turkey? whom is the guy on the left? looks Armenian. Strange coin.
Also bought this one: Perge they say Artemis, but also for this one can not find another, I like it with the double portraits.
The first coin made me immediately think "Tiberius" as well, but beyond that, I have nothing intelligent to add.
Appears to be Tyche, but I don't have time right now to do research. At least that's a starting point.
I'd say Tiberius and turreted Tyche for the first.....perhaps Syria??? https://www.acsearch.info/search.ht...s=1¤cy=usd&thesaurus=1&order=0&company=
could the obverse figure be tigranes instead of tyche? the draping behind head and the kind of makes me think that.
I also thought Tyche but Tyche looks like a man...so I thought maybe more Tigranes? that why I think it is very intresting...
The double headed coin may be a pseudo-autonomous bronze from Pergamum. issued in the early First century AD. They have personifications of Rome on one side and the Roman senate on the other. They can be found in the Greek Sear book under Mysia, Pergamum. The inscriptions are in Greek. If that is the correct attribution Sear lists the coin at 12 pounds.
The only useful letters I can see in the photo is ALM. Extrapolating that only Palmyrene in Palmyria fits, but I dont see anything obvious as yet. I dont have the time, but I would expand your search text to 'veiled turreted' and see where it leads you.
