At some point, you will have read enough to realize that these aren't going to be automatically winning lottery tickets. (I'm not being a jerk, just saying that eventually your scam meter will go off on its own.)

Do you think the seller went to all that trouble to sell you a genuine double eagle for $50?

EXAMPLE for the first "guarantee" - *At least 30 pre-1964 coins in every lot. 30 circulated 1963 D Lincoln cents worth $.30 total. Done, and this checks off one of the "guaranteed precious metal" line items, because the seller considers copper a precious metal (which, technically, I suppose it might be. And I'm sure some people are hoarding it in hopes that it will yield a huge payday. But if you can get copper cents from the bank for face value, are they a selling point for this lot? No.)

True, while it sounds like you could end up rich, look at all he includes specifically. The seller has a huge role in choosing the coins. He is going to make sure that he can make money. Now if it was just a big bucket and he was just doing random grabs, you would have a chance, but it would be like the lottery in that it is very rare to hit the jackpot.

Check their feedback; some of the messages describe what the lots contained.

"Gold foil banknotes" might contain a couple of dollars' worth of gold, but not necessarily.

A ".999 fine gold bar" will almost surely be a 1 grain bar, containing about $2.50 worth of gold.

".999 fine silver bars" may be more generous 1-gram bars, each containing upwards of 50 cents worth of silver.

Remember also that all those categories listed in the description overlap, so those Barber coins also count against the "different denominations", "pre-1964 silver coins", and so on.

By the way, did you notice that they call out "50+ year old US coins" separately, even though they've already said all the US coins are from 1964 or earlier? They might just be bad at math, or they might have been using this same ad copy for many years, while somehow managing not to go bankrupt selling "so much" for "so little".

To finish up @stldanceartist's summary, here's what you're likely to get:

    1 canvas bag (value: ???)
    1 worn Franklin half ($6)
    2 slick Barber dimes ($2.40)
    1 1964 quarter ($3)
    1 BU 1964 Roosevelt dime ($1.20)
    1 1-gram Valcambi silver bar (60 cents)
    1 1-grain .999 gold bar ($2.40)

...and 25 Wheat or early Lincoln Memorial cents (50 cents - $1)

The whole lot could be worth less than $20.

When I started looking for coins on eBay, I was intrigued by these lots as well. Fortunately, I didn't go for any of them. Offers like this one are ALWAYS stacked in favor of the seller.

Even then I don't think there'd be any chance. Anyone who knows coins if they're selling 50 dollar lots and pull out a gold one will just set it aside and reach into the bucket again.

I've looked at these too every so often but haven't ventured to buy one as I know they are profiting and it just didn't make sense. Why "give" away obvious gold and high value items when one could just sell them separately.

If it's too good to be true, then it likely is. On-line "estate sales" are typically hazardous to one's wallet.
