Tetradrachm of Demetrius I Soter

    Lovely coin!

    Yeah, those Seleucids were all about keeping it in the family. Not only did Demetrius I marry his own sister, Laodike V, but his mom, Laodike IV, was the wife and sister of Antiochus, Seleucus IV Philopator, and Antiochus IV Epiphanes. Yep, she married three of her own brothers. It's a convoluted family tree.

    Super TET with a wonderful write-up!!!

    I'm missing a big silver of Demetrius but have a few of the others...and love all of those huge hunks of silver.

    As I recall the gladiator fighting Maximus (Crowe) wore a mask and that's the only example I can think of....

    Now that I think about it, I do vaguely remember this.

    All of this talk about Gladiator makes me kind of want to watch it again lol.

    I remember this one. Definitely a great quality coin!

    As far as the drawings, Google Images :D Can't remember the exact websites they were on though.

    CNG's photo is very accurate to the coin but here's my in-hand photos anyways:
