Yes we have the old master dies. The weakness at the rim and blended rim "We Trust" is what I am referring to.
Question (or opinion): dies are perishable - is this an error or just a mint state specimen from a worn die? If it’s an error, then why?
Coin produced with a worn/streched master die. Last year of the master die that was reworked in 1916. Last year of high relief cent coin.
I am finding it hard to get a good photo. This coin has a slightly tapered planchet. It is the reason for the weakness on the obverse. If you look close the reverse shows a light weakness also.
