Exactly! It’s mostly about the contrast.
Actually, I did, when I coined the phrase. Note the introduction to this thread.

I feel like a Dolt!

Here I am waxing poetic about CircCams in a thread created by the literal person who coined the term (pun intended), our very own @lordmarcovan ! Somehow I missed that that little detail, or perhaps forgot it over the years.

That makes this numismatic term even more relevant and cool than I already thought it was. :singing:

Got a new one. Obverse if CircCam, less so on the reverse.

    No Drapery variety!

Hey, I own this coin, a WB-12. I've owned it for the past 15 years or so and had it graded a few years back at PCGS VF35. Here's the Trueview. This may be the first time I've noticed someone posting photos of a coin I own, and the photos are new to me. Did you once own this coin, SuperDave? 1843 WB12 PCGS VF35.jpg
Here are a few other circ cameos.

Toning bringing out the detail. This Texas is being submitted to PCGS tomorrow.

One of my favorites. I call this a moonlit circulation cameo.

That's strange. The photos they showed are not my photos. I have never seen them before, and I've owned this coin for perhaps 17 years or more. It's one of the first seated Liberty halves I purchased raw for my collection. The Trueview is accurate and excellent this time. Even though a WB-12 is common, I even had it attributed, and it is listed in Coin Facts as the third highest graded example.

No doubt it looks to be the same coin Barberian. He used to post here nearly everyday. Not sure what happened to him. I wonder if anyone knows who he is and if he posts on other forums.

"SsuperDdave" is/was a moderator over on CCF. He hasn't posted there since 2020. I'm not sure if it's the same person though.

I dunno what happened to him. Met him in person at a show once many years ago. He just vanished online…
