    It almost looks like the diecutter took the globe to be an incense burner or some other devise. The globes are always decorated (but wear off early) but I've not seen one that 'fancy'.

    It looks almost like a brazier.

    Perhaps the idea was to offer some kabobs as a sacrifice?

    it almost looks like the globe is "inside" the decorative lines, like it's encaged....stang but cool!
