Getting ready to send some stuff to NGC, feel free to guess their grades and we'll see how close they get. Please forgive the white balance differences. 1.1882 CC 2. 1882 CC 3.1882 CC VAM 3D 4.1882 CC VAM 2C4
Those Morgans are really, really nice. But I would just put them in black ringed ATH's, that can be taken apart easily so you can actually enjoy them for what they are. Once you seal them up in plastic you may add more value but less personal involvement in your collection!! Just my opinion!! And my opinion ain't worth anything!
Haha, thats my kind of collector right there! The coins mean more to you than some graders opine. Especially when, for the same price> u can get our collective opines and atleast 1-2 more coins!!!!!! That is EXACTLY why i purchase mostly pre-slabbed material- or in this case, pre - ribboned material
I hear you but I'm trying to sharpen skills by buying the raw ones. Since they're GSA there's little chance of getting a details coin (although I've done that!). But what I've learned so far is the graders must throw a dart at a board to determine the grade sometimes. But yes, the coins are more important than the grade.
Ok, I think I'm ready to submit with my six additional coins to make a baker's dozen. No one really replied to this one, but if you guys want to grade the next six coins, go crazy. 8. 1882 CC VAM 2D!!! 9.1884 CC 10. 1882 CC 11. 1883 CC
Well, no one really cared but here's the grades: 1.64PL 2.64PL 3.64 4.63 5.62 6.64+ 7.64PL 8.62+ 9.65 10.64+ 11.65 12.65 13.64+PL 14.64DPL
I guess i win by default , but i WAS really close if u compare, that 1st coin shouldve never been graded 64 imo, i must be missing something, to me, its a 63 all day anyday every damn day..... Here are 2 non-cc 63PLs i own- BTW i really like coin #4 w the ice blue textile toning Side-note> You really should consider some PL/DMPL Morgans from the other mints, they can be just as fun to collect and search for rare vams, errors, and undergraded slabs!
If you saw the coin in hand you'd feel differently (or not), the photos aren't flattering. I thought it was a 65. All the marks are very light and don't dig in to the coin and it has lots of luster while at the same time being PL. They gave number 11 a 65 which I though had more hits and less luster. It is at least a 64 IMO. Carson Cities get treated easier. I figured I want to do all I can with the CCs before I expand the collecting because there's SO MUCH to learn about every series and I just love the GSA CCs. Your coins a great though. Here's more flattering pics of the coin:
