Sorry guys, toning interruption is the blended color area from the nose tip to the rim. The obvious is the color loss from the toning around the neck and date. The coin to me has been rubbed or scraped. I could make a coin look like this from a toned coined by scraping it. IMO DETAILS
I'm a going to have to disagree with you. Something prevented that area from toning in such a pattern. Simple as that
I wouldn't. As for paying $17 each, especially with the toned one that I called MS64 (that Fivaz called a 65), regardless of the grade, someone would pay you a decent premium for the color alone.
It seems to me that TPGs are loathe to label coins MS60-MS61 anymore unless the coin has serious problems or has friction and is a technical AU58 that has been grade inflated into a low MS holder.
I think you are confusing discontinuities in toning (which happen) with scratches and significant hits.
For the benefit of argument, if there is no sign of damage even under 10x magnification, can a coin be justifiably considered "Details?"
Sold for $53 on eBay. I turned down an offer of $80 because I thought the bidiots that pay $150 for a worn AT Morgan would bid it up. I also made the mistake of adding free shipping (which I overlooked because it is my default). That is the LAST time I put a non-details coin up for auction. BIN forever onward for me!
True. I thought they'd be a little more predictable than that. Oh well. I'm not fretting. I doubled my money and kept the nicest Morgan of the bunch for my type set for free.
