2007 presidential proofs arrive.

I like these a lot. I think these proofs are the best looking coins the Mint is producing this year, except for the American gold/silver/platinum Eagles.

I think looking at a set of these is going to be like going to the White House or a museum and seeing portraits of all the presidents on the wall.

I understand these will be included in the proof mint sets as well similar to the state quarters. Is this correct?

 

Now we know why. There are reports that people who took the proofs out of the holders have found that the edge lettering is extremely weak on them. Apparently the new process used for the proofs doesn't work very well.

 

Got mine was happy, but noticed marks on adams head and spots on washingtons. Contemplating if I should send it back, I think I will though.

They are sold in the regular proof set, as a standalone set, and perhaps also in the silver proof set too. Yikes.

 

I think they look pretty sweet! Liking the box!

 

There will be tons of these sets. I got my 2 sets and do like them. They , to me, are just a nice $15 coin set. Probably never will be much more than that.

 

Just my 2 cents but I would purchase neither of them unless I thought the price of silver is going to take a steep climb. If there are any I would wait for the platinum anniversary coin, if there ever is one and settle on the silver proofs and I would only buy a couple of these to keep my other silver proof sets company. I fear that there will be a huge mintage of the silver proof sets.

prez proof set is just like the 1976 200th anniversary where mintage is quite high. or the 1986 statue of liberty commems. people just like them. and it is plentiful.
