Where do you draw the "nice coin" line?

    All other technical merits aside, eye appeal is the line.;)

    For me it completely depends on the coin. If I can buy something that would cost me hundreds or thousands of dollars in fantastic shape for a pittance in worse shape, I may pounce. For example, I have a Mexican Emperor Maximilian Peso. Very nice examples run far more than I would ever want to pay for one. But I did find one with a small hole in the top for an almost obscenely low price. Yes, it has a hole. That's no fun. Otherwise, it's pretty decent. I'll easily make this kind of trade off for coins that fascinate me and if the price doesn't make me lose sleep.
