Hello all. Instead of doing a Theme geared towards the day, I've decided to dedicate this one to the Holidays. That's why I'm calling it "Happy Half Holidays!". All you have to do is post Half Dollar coins, tokens or medals (if any). That's it. Let's see how far we can keep this one going! Here's are a few to get Us started.....
(CAC verified, I later discovered, though there is no sticker on the slab) (Hints of iridescent color) (Lower grade semi-key date- great eye appeal despite the modest grade) (Early NGC "no-line fatty" holder) (Higher grade semi-key date- not a cheap coin)
There are two Columbus-related half dollars in the latest lot I added to my Giveaway Gallery. If anyone wants to win both of them (along with a late-medieval Spanish coin from Columbus' own time), this lot will be an eligible prize option for @expat's current Holiday contest, or if his winner doesn't pick it, the lot will be up for grabs in my own Giveaway #120 or one of my subsequent "pick your prize" contests. (3 coins) 1479-1992 Spain & USA: trio of Christopher Columbus-related coins
The last coin I needed for my half cent to non gold dollar coin type set. Anyone who has tried to complete this type set knowns that the 1796-7 half dollar is "the stopper." I wish that it were a little nicer, but you can't get everything perfect. Note that the value on the reverse is expressed by "1/2" with no "D" or "Dol" to support it.
