Hello everyone, Happy Holidays! I haven't detected in almost 3 weeks due to the cold weather and some activities I participated in at church and with my family. I recently did a thread on my 2024 Metal Detecting silver finds. I had given you a total of 66. Today I put on a vest that I had used on one of my trips and found 4 silver coins in one of my pockets. It was a day I had a Trifecta of Dimes! I had totally forgotten about them. So the new total is 70 +
Isn't the ground pretty much frozen now? I hated Metal detecting in the Winter. Not enough spaces to detect. You need a hammer and chisel to break through to the soft soil. Nice pocket find BTW!
PS- I never got tired of diggin' those Mercury dimes. Look at that array of 'em you've got there! Impressive, ain't it? I dug more than a roll's worth of 'em over the years, including a few scarcer dates (no '16-D or 1921 coins), and a few in high grade. Though I'm not a gigantic fan of most Country music, and Alan Jackson was singing about cars rather than coins in his "Mercury Blues" song, it became my "let's go out diggin" theme music, because... "I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury".
