I'd like this Morgan. Why, you may ask? Well there is a deep underlying connection. Hear me out.....

The 1896 Morgan was minted 63 years before my arrival to this party. Coincidentally, or not, it was also minted 63 years before the generous benefactor of this sweet looking coin, @Randy Abercrombie's arrival to the same party. Now Randy has held a couple of giveaways prior to this one. I don't think anybody, other than me, had ever won one of his giveaways. As a matter of fact, Randy and his beautiful wife even discussed banning me from entering this giveaway. Since I have yet to win one of Randy's offerings in the 12 Days of COINmas, in total defiance of his pre contest, single out swimmer, exclude masterswimmer, banning, I want to extend my winning streak and take this Morgan home.

Now was this a 'deep underlying connection' as I previously stated? Not by a long shot, lol. I just didn't have a picture of a coin at hand and wanted to enter. So there you have it, my long winded, incredibly verbose, boring, disconnected story of why I want this coin. It's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

And from the bottom of my heart....
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

I'd love another nice Morgan! This would be a great addition!

Something cheerful: My wife and I are going to have two Christmas celebrations! One with her family, and one with both of our daughters! We're very excited! Full of cheer, you might say! :D

    Entry post for @beaver96 !

Here’s a pic with our fake tree with fake snow inside having a stare down through the window at a real tree with real snow outside.

    Hear ye,

    Hear ye,
Looky what just came to me. .

    Round 4 is now complete.
Thank you, Rob, and Randy ;)

Rob, I love everything, my friend.

As we've all come to learn, Rob supports our hobby, and the Post Office as well. Here's the envelope, which is a prize winning in and of itself.

    And the bounty:

The actual prize is the 1865 3CN piece, and the 1838 Coronet Large Cent.
Everything else are bonus prizes. Thanks again, Rob.

Hooray! Finally, one of MY rounds meets its destination! I was beginning to get concerned. :woot:

Boy, they sure murder-canceled those old stamps, didn’t they? Too bad. I expected postmarks, but not a black Sharpie marker. :(

Often they don’t bother canceling them at all.

@lordmarcovan On the gift you sent me, not related to any giveaway, most of the stamps remained intact.

Day 11 entry post. I like the 1896 because I am 64 and this coin was struck 64 years before I was born. Something like that. Here's my back yard on this first day of winter, and it is a balmy 8 degres. 20241221_083157.jpg Regards.

Count me in please! That Morgan is in much better shape than the Peace and Eisenhower dollars I keep as pocket pieces: upload_2024-12-21_20-54-51.png

When I was a kid, collecting stamps, I would have been overjoyed to receive such an envelope, sharpie-murdered or not! Very cool, Rob!

I bought a bag of 100 UNCs some time back (at a price I absolutely could not refuse). So you’ll see ‘em appear in my goodie packages every once in a while. ;)

I’m glad. I use those old 1930s-1950s 3-cent stamps on occasion, simply because they’re fun. In an era when the First Class letter rate is 73 cents, they’re certainly not practical.

Yeeaaah, that Postal employee totally obliterated those nice pieces of postal history. Such a shame.

I love seeing the postage you use to send out your prizes. I even forewarned my wife about what to expect when she grabs the mail from the box. Immediately knew I'd received your package before even seeing the return address. Thanks for that 'extra' bit of enjoyment. Nice touch.

I too have thousands of unused stamps from the way back days. I try to use the old Christmas stamps on our Christmas cards. But, at 73 cents, it is very difficult to arrange.

I typically will use larger-denomination modern stamps (Forevers, or $1 or $2- even $5 stamps- when I can get 'em) to make up most of the postage, but then I'll add some of the vintage 3-centers to make up the remainder, and to jazz up the envelope a bit. But only when I've got the time to sit down and mess with all that. Sometimes it's just quicker to use all modern stamps, or to to let the PO meter it, if I happen to be there.

Oh Boy, LOL. I've seen the shower curtain ring guy, now this? THE STAMP guy!
Stamp, Stamp, Stamp! There, I said it.
    Stamps are stamped, correct? o_O
