    Hello everyone:

I've had this battered coin for a very long time, and I'm still trying to find the “light”.
Maybe you can enlighten me...... Please, I don't sleep, eat, or drink beer anymore.....

    AE 17. Weight... (I don't have a scale)
With some imagination the Overse is the Head of Zeus and the reverse, Athena standing to the right, about to throw a spear (which is not seen), and with shield also to right....
I searched for similar designs and I stayed with those of Macedon, Kings, Philip V in wildwinds.
    https://www.wildwinds.com/coins/greece/macedonia/kings/philip_V/t.html
And with those of the Thessalian League.
    https://www.wildwinds.com/coins/greece/thessaly/thessalian_league/t.html
Which do not match even with the best wishes to see what I want to see with the letters to the left of Athena..... below all an Omega?
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards.

The inscription on the reverse looks like ΛAP-IΣAI which would make it a coin from the Thessalian League.

It seemed to me that it might be around there, but not finding any images that matched, I was left with doubts. IΣAI... it's clear to me now, I'm still around here looking for it. ¡¡Great!!!.
A thousand thanks for your time and work.

Hello, thank you for your reply.
I was ivestigating about thesalia, and I took care of 2 auction catalogs.

And I found these that are the closest thing....

THESSALY, Larissa Kremaste. 2nd century BC. Æ Dichalkon (17mm, 5.57 g, 7h). Laureate head of Zeus r., border of dots / ΛΑΡΙΣΑΙΩ[Ν] l. down, Athena Itonia in fighting attitude r., below to r., monogram. Rogers 323, fig. 162 (same obv. die). Near VF, dark green patina, the rev. softly struck; very rare.

THESSALY, Larissa Kremaste. 2nd century BC. Æ Dichalkon (19mm, 6.76 g, 7h). Laureate head of Zeus r., border of dots / ΛΑΡΙΣΑΙ l. down, ΩΝ r. up, Athena Itonia in fighting attitude r., in field r., monogram. This particular division of the ethnic inscription has not been found in the consulted literature.

But there would be missing letters and the coin itself is a bit larger, with smaller designs.....

I think it's around here, Larissa Kremaste, rather than the league ones.

Thank you, I hope to unravel the "mystery" of this coin.
    Kind regards.

    Hello everyone:
With a little more help I got to this catalog:
The Copper Coinage of Thessaly ; Author, Edgar Rogers ; Publisher, Spink & Son, 1932

Where the image below appears with the data, which I later looked for with better resolution in the British Museum.

    ΛΑΡΙΣΑΙΩΝ – I can distinguish - - ΡΙΣΑΙ ¿-ЄΝ-?

    Larisa: ΛΑΡΙΣΑIΩΝ – Λαρισαίων

I think I'll leave it here. “Out of nothing nothing comes out” ... and from the state of the poor thing I don't think I can extract any more from it..... THESSALY, Larissa Kremaste. B.C. 197 – B.C 146

    Best regards
