If you are quoting Wikipedia as a serious reference, my small typo is dwarfed by the collective stupidity of crowds....
I am not a fan of varieties for this reason. For me to care, you should be able to spot it easily and with minimal magnification. Perhaps not with your example but others such as the 1914/3 the status can change as people argue over whether the coin is truly an overdate, etc. Demand can also be variable and the value of the variety is always subject to new coins that may come to the market (e.g. look at the price of 1995 DDO cents compared to the prices shortly after discovery).
Just like everything else the demand will determine the value. For error coins I think the demand is unusually hard to predict and subject to quickly change. People who collect error coins usually have a genuine interest in the process of minting and would still collect them even if they knew they would only ever be worth face value. This branch of collecting doesn't appeal to me so I don't care too much if I accidentally let a valuable mint error coin slip through my fingers. Some of the best advice I ever got about the hobby was to only ever collect coins that I like and would not be too upset to lose money on
Let me just say welcome to the game. If you want advice and opinions you came to the right place. If one thing I have learned over the many years of collecting is regardless if the coin is an error or not, the bottom line is it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. USMC60
while this buffalo is a far better example, the kansas state quarter that reads "IN GOD WE RUST" has sold for around $30. Be on the lookout for that one too.
I suppose I should clarify that I don't intentionally let valuable errors slip through my fingers and I have checked my collection for all the errors that I am aware of. What I meant was its not my favorite branch of the hobby so I am not as knowledgeable and wouldn't beat myself up if I passed on a valuable error at a good price. Like I said I only read about and collect what I like which is what makes collecting fun for me. I am American actually. Why do I type with a British accent ;-)
that's easy. Most of the time they're all around you in your everyday life. The question is how good of a pitch person are you.??? And if you can sell ice to an Eskimo you qualify. LOL.
I don't know why you would do that. I have found at least in my life, having to ask many of inebriated women to have to leave and establishment. I personally would rather step into a cage with a Bengal tiger. Women tend to bite scratch kick spit and use language that would make a sailor blush. And that idiot that wrote the song about Cuervo. I don't know tequila and good old Jack seems to make women crazy. Some may disagree with me as they do quite often. I'm going to stop right there before I get in trouble with the opposite sex. And just say women are very enjoyable and a pleasure to be around under all circumstances.
I mean this in the nicest possible way, but... Look at yourself in the mirror. Do you really want to spend time with a woman who would buy you?
