Open letter to the QuarterMaster

I was blown away a couple of days ago when a letter from the QuarterMaster was forwarded to me (it had our new address...wonder how s/he got it?) but we're in AZ for a bit. Inside was the Tennessee quarter with a cryptic message: X ON OCEAN. Haven't deciphered it yet. What blew me away was a crisp note included, the amount more generous than I could have expected or deserved.

I obviously have no direct way to contact him/her, except hope that this gets viewed. Thank you, Sir/Madam/Most Honorable and Generous QM!

Sounds like a fellow with unlimited means. Such generosity is most befitting and wonderous to behold during this season of light......

Exxon Ocean? Not sure what Exxon has to do with Tennessee though.

ALWAYS open any mail you might get from the Quarter Master!

I used his enclosed Ulysses to help with the holiday shopping. It was timely and helpful.

The Quarter Master is a gentleman of a certain age. I know this much from a face-redacted photo that was in one of his old mailings.

Beyond that, I don’t know much. If I remember correctly, this last mailing had a Denver, CO postmark (?) And, if memory does not fail me (though it might), I seem to recall past mailings with Florida postmarks. Though that might be because all of our local SE GA mail is routed through Jacksonville, FL.

The Puerto Rican return address on the Quarter Notes mailings seems to be fake, though the Quarter Master does seem to have had some sort of connection to Puerto Rico at some point.

Somehow I’ve been completely out of the loop re: the quartermaster but it’s fun to watch from the sidelines

I'm not sure why the QM has deigned to favor me (and a number of others) but I'm not complaining, just wondering who s/he is, what prompted him/her to begin the project, etc.

QM must be a member. But how to sleuth out our benefactor from the thousands of members?

Poirot does that. Leave it to him.

He is definitely a "he", as I mentioned. White fella of at least middle age (as oh so many of us here are).

Beyond that, a lot of the other demographic details are unknown to me.
