The seller ended this listing early to sell to the high bidder(s) at current bid price. Winning bid: US $99,000,100.00 FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!! I would have ended it also.
Considering you could buy a decent sized country for what he allegedly sold that coin for, I'd say it was a lousy scam that ended with no transaction. It's easy to have a couple buddys bid things high for you. Plus, for such a "rare" coin, I'd expect to at least have some pictures that were taken closer than 10 feet away and blury. Guy~
Yes, but eBay still gets their cut (~$1,5000,000) unless I am missing something. He can get it back if the buyer agrees, but what a pain. Maybe a couple of his "buddies" are out to get him.
If this is a fake bid, then the Seller will realize he/she made a bad mistake, once they get the bill for the final bid price! Frank
The posters over on the PCGS boards were really ragging on this seller, and were the ones bidding it up to 99,000,000. I think the seller finally admitted it was an 1840-O.
