Hostilian Sestertius

    Hostilian as Augustus, ca. July-August 251

    I was looking for a companion Antoninianus for my Herennius Etruscus because I almost gave up looking for Sestertii of these two unlucky brothers (ugly but expensive things with odd flans mostly), but then I found this in the mail today...

    I am not really a friend of patina and the flan is not too big, but I guess I will keep it anyway :)

    I actually have a Hostilian in bronze, but not sure of denomination as it is a Provincial...

    Thank you! But isn´t it ironic that my unpatinated bronzes always get more "likes" here than the patinated ones? ;-p

    I'll be honest. The un-patinated coins are nice enough, but look over cleaned to me. I'm obviously not a high end collector. I just collect for my own enjoyment. I would gladly have your un-patentated coins, but my preference is a nice heavy patina like the OP coin.
