Just got a whole bunch of sexy back from ANACS At $8 a piece including shipong the fall special was too good not to get a bunch of my CARR stuff slabbed
Exactly what language do you use on your keyboard, for that to be an Autocorrect? There are two nicks in the field to the left of her right hand. No offense, ANACS, but it ain't a 70.
Can you imagine the turnaround times if PCGS did a submission special like that? It would probably be around 12 months or so to get your coins back. Sweet submission Chris!!
It honestly has me wondering just how many graders they have left. If their business were increasing at the rate indicated by these turnarounds, they'd be trumpeting it from the rooftops.
I agree. They must be down a lot of graders. I think they have done some new hires and they are just out of training and seem to be grading very conservatively lately. With exception to the bulk department of course, just look at that MS-67+ 1964 Washington Quarter I had posted. Personally I am at a point where I would rather submit to NGC or ANACS, but the market seems to treat PCGS coins like they were blessed by the Pope himself. I just don't get it.
Never... During the ANA Summer Seminar the modern minting class took a trip to the Moonlight Mint and Dan let students strike Eisenhowers, Morgans and other coins on his press with a canceled US mint reverse die and a Clark Gruber obverse die as keepsakes. One very similar to this one sold on eBay recently for $100
32ish apparently from their earnings report I believe. Their volumes did increase by a not insignificant amount, but they also seem to have been putting a lot of effort into the China office and between that and Hall's surgery the office wasn't exactly a well oiled machine over the summer. They do seem to have gotten more reasonable, my last one actually finished on time which was shocking.
Great tokens... love 'em! I am waiting for my PL Morgan to come in, and I still need to find one more item to submit in my group to ANACS... Especially love that $60 Gruber token...
Ok, your punishment for showing off is that I am going to invite coin chemistry and the others over from the Carr thread now lol.
Nice group. I see you went all in on the 64-D Morgan. I've got 4 of them and 2 each of all the high grade version of his most recent batch of restrikes. (My goal is to either resell some or use them for trade bait to get a couple of the other overstrikes I'm interested in.) I'm considering submitting them under the current special, with the "certification certificates," or whatever they're calling them, but I just haven't got around to it yet.
