I once found a promo token from one of those early 1930s “Gold Diggers” movies in a bulk bag.

A worn slick Lady Liberty was never that easy to look at.

Regarding that token, it wasn’t so much a case of it being worn slick, as it was of it being a very basic design. I think it originally just had a lady’s silhouette like that, without much other detail on her. Looks like she did have a rudimentary face, of sorts.

11 days to Christmas, and we've got six rounds left to do after this one. So...

TIME FOR THE ROUND 6 DRAWING!

    Our lucky number was... 241!

    upload_2024-12-14_22-44-14.png

    And Post #241 was by... @Abramthegreat ... on behalf of @SensibleSal66 !

Good on you, @Abramthegreat - and coingratulations, @SensibleSal66 - you have won Lot #6!

I will need a reminder of your shipping address, just to be sure I have the current one. I shall message you shortly.

Please be sure to post to this thread after you have received your prize. We will all be interested to know what your "mystery" prizes were, as well!

I want some of that sausage! When I was in junior high school, I spent the week before Christmas with my best friend's Italian family. I got to help out in the kitchen while they made Italian sausage. It it was really good. It had a hint of anise in it (I get a flashback to it when I order the Zuppa Toscana at Olive Garden, which contains similar sausage).

When I got to help in the sausage-making process at my friend's house, I must say the eating part was more fun than the making part, but I enjoyed both. It's a fond Christmas memory.

    LET ROUND 7 BEGIN!

    @Randy Abercrombie gave to thee...

    A pair of odd-denomination US type coins (1867 2-cent piece and 1865 copper-nickel 3-cent piece).

    IMG_4588.jpeg

    IMG_4589.jpeg

So you've got five cents' worth of 19th century history right here, in two obsolete denominations.

There will also be some additional "mystery prize" items.

To enter this round, all you need to do is:

    1. Say that you want this lot, and
    2. post something else coin-related or cheerful.

Then, sometime in the next 2-4 days (depending on my schedule), we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round.

You may of course say you want it for someone else, if you name that person.

I should be able to have Sal's prize for Round 6 in the mail tomorrow, though since that's a Sunday, it won't move until Monday the 16th. Maybe the earlier prizes for Rounds 2-5 should start landing in people's mailboxes soon, and we'll hear back on what they got. :)

Day 7 entry post. Over the hump as they say. I took this picture in Chicago while waiting for my wife at the Korean market.

Yeah, that's what I looked at when I first saw that pic on my phone, too. Took me a moment to notice the eight million pigeons in the pic! :pigeon::pigeon::pigeon::pigeon::pigeon::pigeon::pigeon::pigeon:

Thank You again! We've tried that mailbox trick. Sometimes he picks up, sometimes not. Boy, times of being a good postman is over, I guess.

I'd like in on this round for my grandson. These are certainly two coins that would knock his little socks off.

I've been the catalyst to his coin/mineral/fossil/meteorite collecting. This Xmas I bought him a safe to protect his collectibles. Not so much from marauding invaders, but more so from my other grandson, his 4 y/o brother. lol

Hey @masterswimmer! Nice gesture for your grandson.
Here's another entry for him... #280!
