Its been awhile since I've posted any of my newps... My latest... 1900-O Quarter Secure Plus : PCGS 58:
Its been my grade of choice since I was in High School in the 60's. My latest - for the everyman set ATS: Notice the strike thru on the REV shield.
I soaked this in acetone for probably two months. It's a little cleaner than before, but not near what I would like. Any suggestions?
ExSkyWarrior: I wish I knew how to help you. If that was in acetone for that long - and it still looks like that - I'd send it to NCS - { conservator part of NGC }...I think they would be the best place to help. I would not recommend the other TPG service - I have been disappointed too often and end up paying beaucoup bucks for absolutely no service at all.
Thank you Elbasaar. That's probably what I'll do, I think the coin is worth the expense and I don't have that much wrapped up in it. I took a better photo that shows more of the color. Thx again.
Since I picked up the 1907 Phila Quarter in PCGS 58 - I sent it to CAC - where it beaned ! Pretty stoked about that. I have a 61 - which I bought raw and hoped it would 58 for my Everyman collection - but - PCGS thought it a touch nicer than a 58 - and graded it MS. I also picked up a few others since my last post: Bought this raw on ebay - expressed it thru PCGS - got the coin back with in a week - and I was [again] hoping for a 58 - nope: MS 63: Spotted this AU 58 CAC - and it upgrades my AU 55 - which is in a Heritage auction in January: Found a choice Proof 1892 Dime in 63 CAM - and its a really beautifully toned coin ! I'm concentrating on 1892 - 1900 Proof Dimes [ 63, 63+, 64, 64+'s ] Not planning on going nuts - as 65-68's a bankers coins. The other night I grabbed this on a BIN on eBay - its a duplicate - but its 1/2 the price of my other AU 58: Found this on CRO - and again, its an upgrade for another I am selling at Heritage's FUN auctions: I think that's about it for now....
A Christmas present for my cousin's Son, who I got hooked on Barbers... A set I like a lot - but have not paid too much attention to: My V Nickel Proof Set: The newp:
I think this one has decent eye appeal for the grade it's nice and clean no major distractions and most of all the price was right. A nice clean strike. It's graded EF 40 by ICG
Although this one didn't stay with me very long she still was a looker. I think I'm just going to end up sending in my 1907-S that has the repunch MM. The book is also a recent addition to my numismatic library. Still waiting for my 1894-O Dime that's been "missing" in the mail for 22 days now. Staying hopeful
Some more. All sellers pics until I get them in hand. Except the 1909. and I tossed in the 1912 for good measure. that's all my barber quarters to date
