I don't have many Thracian coins and this is my only Chersonesos. I believe this coin was struck just after Lysimachus destroyed Kardia in 309 BC. He then transferred the population that was left of Kardia to his new capital of Lysimachea. I wish I could've found a better example mainly the reverse lion (stevex6) may have one. It's rare but I don't think it's that rare. Thracian, Chersonesos. Kardia 309-350 BC, Ae 20mm, 7.4g. Wreathed head of Persesphone left with tripple pendant ear ring. Lion standing left breaking spear with mouth. Grain ear in exergue. SNG Copenhagen 862, BMC Thrace1 Go ahead and share what you have.

Wow, Smojo => I love your cool AE version ... it is very cool (I have an AR version, but now I "really" want/need to find myself one of these amazingly awesome AE examples) ... you had me at "Lion"
I'm looking for a replacement, within budget. Some reason I thought you'd like a lion. Also thought I could fish an example out of the group, really thought you would have one. I'd like to see your AR
I'd say 95% of the ancients I have are "very humble". I'd think most of us have a budget to stick to. I still post them especially when nobody asks. You Mr. Stevex have some of the nicest but yet bizarre collections.
hey, i'm a "humble" ancients guy as well...keep 'em coming smojo! i don't have anything to share here, a lion from here is the list however!
