Recently came across several old bank notes in some family belongings. Can anyone tell me if any of these are of any value? 1899 Black Eagle $1 Silver Certificate 1923 $1 Silver Certificate 1934A $10 Silver Certificate 1953B $5 Silver Certificate $2 Bills – 1953B, 1963A, 1963 Thanks!
All of them are. As to how much it depends upon condition. I would also suggest getting some "non reactive" currency holders for those notes. clembo
I don't know how paper currency is rated by the experts, but I would say all of them are in excellent condition, and all are stored in some sort of plastic sleeve. The $2 bills appear to be uncirculated. The silver notes show a little wear, but no tears, folds, missing or frayed corners. I'd post pictures, but I'm away from home right now with no way to upload.
Since you don't know what was used for the holders, if you plan on keeping them, please get Mylar holders as soon as you can. All of those are excellent finds.
I do not. I'm travelling right now. I've taken some pictures but I've got no way to upload them until I get home next week.
best piece of advice i have heard this summer now are you going to tell where to get it from or are you going to leave us hanging?
Ooops! Most coin shops carry them. If not you can get them online. Gotta work now but if you need sources to order from I can find them. Usually sold by the 100 on line though. clembo
