I belong to the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society (https://www.smwsa.com/). They offer specialty bottles of scotch drawn directly from single casks which, as you connoisseurs know, is twice the strength of ordinary bottled single malt that contains a mix of 50% water. Club members know to dilute the single malt they sip. Otherwise it is too intense and drains all the moisture from your mouth. I used to just add a little ice instead of water which I figured was the same idea. But now I can't stop using ice for any scotch. I think I'm a lost cause. Lance.
