Ideas on what is going on with this dime.

I have noticed that there are a lot of issues with the 2015 P dimes, however this one I have seem to be in worse shape that what's posted online already. Is this a die adjustment error, or a grease in die error. There seems to be quite a bit of a halo around Roosevelt's head, to the naked eye, the date and mint mark are almost impossible to see, 'In God We Trust' is almost non existent, and the word Liberty is not completely clear. @Venus Wood
    No introduction?

I dont think it's a Die Adjustment. A normal Grease Strike. Common occurrence.

    Ok ;)
Can you post a picture of the Reverse side? Looks like a minor Misaligned Die strike also.

It's good enough. See how the left side of the Obverse is a bit thicker than the right side? That just occured on the Obverse and not the Reverse side so it's Misaligned. And if it were a Die Adjustment the Reverse would be a weak strike also.

Thank you. I am not a big collector of coins, so when I ran across this little oddball it striked a curiosity in me to gather some information. I found that the mint really had issues in 2015, especially with these dimes. It may not be worth anything much, but it is pretty neat.

You should hang onto that dime. That would be a lot of grease to have so much of the motto, date, and mintmark missing. There is probably some grease build up. But, I am more in the camp that the die was in the late, late stage of usefulness. For sure a mint error.

Your posting was fine for an introduction. I am more surprised you posted full size images. 90% of newcomers don't post full images. Welcome to CoinTalk.

Better watch out, coin collecting is an addiction that is almost impossible to break...it saddens me to think of you in years to come holding up the line at Mickey D's while you check out that handful of change...:)

Thank you for sharing that with me, it makes me feel a bit better about that dime. When I first happened across it, I really didn't pay too much attention to it. I noticed haphazardly that it was odd so I set it aside. About a week later I finally picked it up to take a look. It took me about 5 minutes to guess the date. I then thought I had hit pay dirt! Ha! To my surprise, there's a bunch of 'em out there. Mine is the worst I have seen though...
I do believe that I will actually be paying more attention to what's in my pocket.... I like this group. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Nice find, it would be a keeper for me as it's quite a bit more pronounced than most I have seen so far from 2015. Welcome to CT!

I disagree. Look how sharp the center of the obverse is. ;)

The obverse seems to some leveling of the words as well... When I get home this evening and get it back on the scanner, it may produce a better photo.
