Oh, I'll have a Rhodes to post before too long...not here yet and I'm superstitious. Anyway I'm on the liquor and thought I would post a couple of my recent favorites along with some of my favorite tunes. Heck, there will be some new tunes too! Gaius Caligula, AD 37-41 Æ As, 29mm, 11.5g, 6h; Rome mint, AD 37-8 Obv.: C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS PON M TR POT, bare head left. Rev.: VESTA above, S C across field, Vesta, veiled and draped, seated left on ornamental throne, holding patera and long transverse scepter.
I'm really loving the new Stones album. If you like the Stones and blues then I highly recommend it - you will not be disappointed! Clapton even makes an appearance. Carthaginians in Hispania AE 1/4 Calco, 1.5g, 13mm; mobile military mint, 218-208 BC. Obv.: Wreathed head of Tanit left. Rev.: Crested helmet left, with cheek guards Sometimes we'll post our "favorite" coins more than once. Please excuse this one...I'm pretty sure I've posted it before but I've never posted this song before! Don't be scared, check it out you Stones or blues lovers!
Well the dirty looks continue so here's another coin and tune... Here's a great tune. Every time I hear it, I'm reminded of cruising in my old Caddy...making late night music/stuff purchases...
This is how I feel tonight ... old, and fricken totally rocked-out!! Oh => JA and I thought this poor puppy was lost in transit ... but then "Shabaaammm" ... it's a Christmas miracle!! (it arrived today!!)
if any of you guys listen to emerson lake and palmer, greg lake just died a few days ago (keith emerson died earlier this year), one of my favorite groups. this is one of their more popular songs featuring greg lake...
Awesome band (very sad to have the band members getting old and dying-off) ... Brain Salad Surgery was one of my youth albums ... yah, there was a bit of substance abuse goin' on during those Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Yes, ELP daze ... good times (a lot of wasted days, but definitely fun times) Oh, and that's a fantastic coin (cheers, chrsmat)
Yah, I seem to be in a music mood as well ... Friday and all (the wife is out doing operation-reindeer and I am at home doing operation rye!!) Oh well, we all have our strong suits, eh? => here is a cool song and another one of my recent bargain pickups ...
This song was stuck in my head during my math final. I felt there was some irony in it. And I really like this rare ancient Chinese coin: China - Early round coin with square hole (300-221 BC) Yi Liu Hua "Six Hua of the city of Yi"
We need some music for Saturnalia! The band name calls for a coin with Mars on it... this one seemed appropriate .
New camera, reverse is not the greatest and I messed up editing it but best picture I ever took of a coin I suppose
A coin depicting a beautiful woman: And a song by an incredibly beautiful and talented musician of the 20th century.
